The Problem
Today, more than at any time before, the farming community is facing the risk of financial loss, disruption to their business and costly clean up operations as thieves are becoming more sophisticated and ruthless in targeting them for their precious diesel fuel and heating oil.
Satellite imagery now makes it so easy for thieves to locate and plan attacks on tanks.

Quite often, due to the rural position of storage tanks, detection of the theft happens long after the offence has occurred and the authorities are often powerless to catch the culprits. In many cases, if the the thieves have been successful, they will return on a later occasion fully knowing that their exploits will go unpunished as there are very few practical deterrents on the market suitable for this situation.
The Solution
For tanks which have no local electricity supply, the Oil Defender is the solution. It will provide an alarm at a controller unit based inside a nearby building if the oil level decreases at a faster than normal rate, or if the hatch has been opened before the unit has been disabled. Options are available to operate over ranges of 300m or 1km line of site. Also an additional warning signal is activated when the level has reached a low level point in order to prepare for a new fuel delivery.
Larger diesel tanks which are used to refill vehicles and machinery will more than often have an electrically operated pump. For these tanks the Depot Defender proves the perfect solution. Rapidly decreasing fuel levels and tampering with the tank will produce alarms on a unit located on the tank itself. In addition a 105 dB sounder located on the tank will be activated. The unit is automatically disabled when the pump is in use in order to avoid alarms whilst refueling vehicles and machinery.
Our Oil Defender and Depot Defender products are all designed, manufactured and supported within the UK.
